Tools for Success Testing Workshop

Who: Kindergarten through 12th Grade & Parents When: Thursday, November 16, 2017, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Where: Valdosta Middle School Classrooms
1. Information about Valdosta City Schools testing, dates, & times 2. Testing Strategies for (GKIDS, STAR, AR, GMAS, EOCT, SAT, ACT, and More) 3. Individual sessions for grades (K-2) (3-5) (6-8) (9-12) 4. All sessions will begin at 6:00 5. Door Prizes will be given away

Valdosta military dad surprises daughter at school

Newbern's student, Nevaeh Goodloe is surprised by her dad, TSgt. Marcus Goodloe from deployment overseas.

After serving overseas for more than five months, Goodloe was able to embrace his daughter Nevaeh.

After the surprise, Goodloe helped his daughter take down the flag and fold it. The principal then put it in a “Welcome Home” display case, and gave it back to the family as a keep safe.

The school resource officer helped Goodloe pull off the big surprise.

O'Steen Subaru of Valdosta donate books to Newbern Middle

With more than 100,000 members and some 250 affiliated societies and academies of science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) serves as an authoritative source of information on the latest development in science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people. By nurturing students’ scientific interests and talents, AAAS programs provide exciting opportunities and help build bridges to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, Subaru and its retailers are supporting the AAAS by donating over 70,000 award-winning science books to schools across the country. Newbern was glad to be one of the recipients of O’Steen Subaru’s science book donation.
